OCTOBER 2008 Day 2
next>

That is why we keep on talking to God about you since the day we heard about you. We ask him that you may know everything he wants you to do. We ask him that you may be very wise and that the Spirit will help you to understand.
We ask him that you will live the way the Lord wants you to live, so that you will please him in everything you do. We ask that you will do everything that is good. We ask that you will see the fruit from what you do. We ask that you will know more and more about God. God has wonderful power. And we ask him to give you all the strength you need to go through all your troubles, to be very patient in them, and to be happy. Thank the Father who has made us ready to be with the people of God who live in his light.

DAY 2—We are learning to live out of what God has ordained for us.

This is, indeed, a supplicant’s plea unto the Lord as one is approaching the Day of Christ. He shall send His redeemed force into the field wherein are the nations that are to be brought under the governance of His heavenly Kingdom. The Truths that Paul has laid out for us in his Epistles—especially that which we are learning to call Romans Truth and Ephesians Truth—establishes with us that we have been raised up and made to sit together with Him on the Throne of His eternal Kingdom. From there we shall reign with Him, while facing the fierce opposition dispatched by the anti-Christ himself.

Psalm 68:28Thy God hath commanded thy strength: Strengthen, O God, that which Thou hast wrought for us.
[LRT] Your God has ordained your personal and political might. Oh God, cause us to prevail in what you have ordained for us.

Ephesians 1-6 It wasn't so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn't know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It's a wonder God didn't lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah. (MSG)

DEAR LORD, in the deepest part of my heart I want Your Kingdom. I want Your rule in my life. I want to be free from all the strongholds this secular order holds over my life. Please let it fall away from me. Please bring me onward toward becoming mature person in Your Kingdom.
