That is why we keep on talking to God about you since the day we heard about you. We ask him that you may know everything he wants you to do. We ask him that you may be very wise and that the Spirit will help you to understand. We ask him that you will live the way the Lord wants you to live, so that you will please him in everything you do. We ask that you will do everything that is good. We ask that you will see the fruit from what you do. We ask that you will know more and more about God. God has wonderful power. And we ask him to give you all the strength you need to go through all your troubles, to be very patient in them, and to be happy. Thank the Father who has made us ready to be with the people of God who live in his light. (WE)
Colossians 1:9-12
DAY 27—Take Heed Lest Our Understanding Be Diminished |

As we grow in Kingdom life we must take heed lest the world crowd in upon us. If we allow the world with its distractions to crowd in upon us, our understanding of the Kingdom will diminish. Thus, the god of this world will impose his rule upon us.
Mark 4:19—And the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the Word. and it becometh unfruitful.
(MSG) 18-19 "The seed cast in the weeds represents the ones who hear the kingdom news but are overwhelmed with worries about all the things they have to do and all the things they want to get. The stress strangles what they heard, and nothing comes of it.
John 15:19—If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
(MSG) 18-19 "If you find the godless world is hating you, remember it got its start hating me. If you lived on the world's terms, the world would love you as one of its own. But since I picked you to live on God's terms and no longer on the world's terms, the world is going to hate you.
LORD, the world has made a bid for my heart and soul. Please set me free from its inordinate pull. Please help me find a balance in my affairs of life so I can live the life of a Kingdom person.
