Matthew 13:25, 38b, 39a—But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.... the tares are the children of the wicked one: the enemy that sowed them is the devil…
(MSG) 24-26 He told another story. "God's kingdom is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field. That night, while his hired men were asleep, his enemy sowed thistles all through the wheat and slipped away before dawn. When the first green shoots appeared and the grain began to form, the thistles showed up, too.
37-39 So he explained. "The farmer who sows the pure seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the pure seeds are subjects of the kingdom, the thistles are subjects of the Devil, and the enemy who sows them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age, the curtain of history. The harvest hands are angels.
II Corinthians 11:14—And no marvel: for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness: whose end shall be according to their works.
(MSG) And no wonder! Satan does it all the time, dressing up as a beautiful angel of light. So it shouldn't surprise us when his servants masquerade as servants of God. But they're not getting by with anything. They'll pay for it in the end.
LORD, I cry unto You for a discerning of spirits. Many strange and diverse things go on in Your Name that it confuse me. While I don’t consider myself a judge, at least help me know what is born of Your Spirit so I can give myself to what is right.
