Ephesians 1:
15
Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;  17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

DAY 9—Receiving Wise Counsel from Godly Counselors

It is a dangerous thing to think we can walk without the counsel and help of others who walk with the Lord. All of us need counsel at times. Often it’s a good thing to pray with others seeking what is right. Wisdom—real godly wisdom—may frequently come when believers get together and pray. In fact, we should learn always to seek guidance and wisdom from praying people.

See the following. Indeed, Scripture is teaching us to seek counsel from a multitude of counselors. Far and away, the best way this can come about is in a praying group. Then, no one is as apt to give their own opinion, as they are to seek the consensus of the whole group. Sometimes, right counsel will come only after much prayer. This is so when the situation is grave and the path is dark.

Proverbs 11:14Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Proverbs 15:22Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Proverbs 24:6For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

LORD, this word about safety in the multitude of counselors must be important. I see it in Your Word. Please lead me to those who can pray and then give right counsel. Give me Your wisdom as to how to follow advice that comes from godly counselors. Now—please give these loved ones I hold before You a desire to heed good counsel. Give them counselors who know You.
