Ephesians 1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,  16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;  

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

SOME DIMENSIONS of wisdom are impure. Therefore, we will spend some days asking God to purge our ways of thinking and our responses to life. In this we will open ourselves to the purity of His wisdom. In our praying for others, we renounce a spirit of control. We will simply hold them before God's throne for the working of His Spirit in them.

DAY 1-Renouncing the Wisdom of Satan
Jas 3:14,15 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is.. devilish ("demonic"). II Cor 11:3 But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

LORD, I am ready to renounce every thought and idea that disqualifies me for Your Kingdom. Set up a search through in my way of thinking. Find out in me the wisdom I have embraced that belongs to the realm of Satan. The Appeal of Jesus to Leave Satan's Way-Jn 8:42-47

DAY 2 -Finding Release from this World's Wisdom Rom 1:21,22 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. Jas 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly ("low and groveling")...
FATHER, too much of this world's wisdom and way of thinking has worked in us. We have thought and lived in accord with the world. Bring the conviction of Your Spirit over upon us. Help us start glorifying You. Deal with our vanity and teach us the wisdom of always being thankful.

DAY 3-Renouncing the Wisdom Born in Our Souls Apart from God I Cor 2:14 But the natural ("soulish") man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Pro 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes... Jas 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above but is... sensual ("soulish")...
FATHER, our souls are prone to think thoughts that leave You out. We have tried to devise our own ways. It has resulted in grief and near disaster. Help us repent and ask for Your mercy. Give us Your wisdom to come out of the situations we have created with our natural wisdom. The Conversion of the Saul-Ps 19:7-9

DAY 4-Purging the Counsel of Wicked Men Ezk 11:2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief and give wicked counsel in this city. Ps 36:3a The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise...
DEAR LORD, we have come under the counsel of wicked men. It has brought us to a point of trouble that hangs over and will not let go. I repent for listening to them. Please help these in my family repent. Give us Your wisdom so we build our lives for Your Kingdom.
Seeing God's Light through the Darkness-Ps 36:1-9

DAY 5-Becoming Wary of this World's Wisdom I Cor 3:18,19a Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God... Is 29:14b … for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
DEAR LORD, there are some people I want to hold before You today. They have come under the strong influence of the world and its so-called wisdom. Please send Your Spirit to pierce their darkness and release in them a new and keen desire to know You and Your ways. How the Gospel, although Simple, Exceeds the Wisdom of this World-I Cor 2:1-9

DAY 6-Walking in Wisdom toward the World Mt 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
LORD, I must live in the world and communicate with many who do not know You in a personal way. Help me live among them and conduct my affairs in a wise manner. Help my speech and the way I carry myself be honorable to You. Let someone see You in me today. A Believer's Communion with the World- John 15:18,19:1 John 2:15

DAY 7-The Rejection of Wrong Counsel Ps 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Rom 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
FATHER, I want to remain simple, but not when it comes to discerning wrong counsel. Give me insight and understanding in my dealings with the world. Release Your godly wisdom in me that I might withstand the deception that is out there. Do this also in these loved ones I hold before Your Throne today. Worldly Wisdom Personified as a Seductive Woman-Pro 7:4:-23

DAY 8-Receiving from the Good Wisdom of Others Pro 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. Pro 15:22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. Pro 24:6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
LORD, this word about safety in the multitude of counsellors must be important. I see it these three times in Your Word. Please lead me to those who can give right counsel. Give me Your wisdom as to how to follow their advice. Give these loved ones I hold before You a desire to heed good counsel. Give them counsellors who know You. The Consequence of Rejecting Right Counsel- I KI 12:1-19

DAY 9-Discerning the Counsel of Good Men but Who Are Wrong Job 4:l...5:27 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, . . Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good. Job 42:7a And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of Me the thing that is right...
FATHER, many people have tried to hand down their wisdom to us in what we now face. Honestly, it has brought us to confusion. I believe some of what they have said is right, but we need Your help to discern what counsel we should follow. Help these in my family who have come under strange counsel. Give Your wisdom.
God's Judgment concerning the Counsel of Religious Men Who Were not Right-Job 42:7-10

DAY 10-Heeding the Wisdom of God's Word Ps 119:11 Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee. Col 3:16 Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. FATHER, I have great respect unto Your Word. Please give me the help of Your Spirit that I may apply its counsel to my everyday life. Show me how not to twist it or to use it to defend my own end when what I want is contrary to Your will. Please give these I hold before You a fresh and keen desire toward Your Word and its counsel.

DAY 11-Opening Ourselves to the Generosity of God as He Gives Wisdom Jas 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. I John 5:14,15 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: and if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
FATHER, too often my wisdom allowed me to do things unwise. I regret this. Forgive me for not looking to You in a clearer and more precise manner for Your wisdom. Help these in my family who did not wait before You till You formed Your wisdom in them. We need Your grace. How God Delights in Our Search for Wisdom as It Turns Toward Him-I Kings 3:7-13

DAY 12-Developing the Wisdom of One's Own Soul Pro 4:7,8 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour; when thou dost embrace her.
FATHER, please make me into a wise person with my life in order. Help me learn from my failures and mistakes. Cause me to grow in wisdom that I not make more mistakes. Draw these I hold before You into wisdom. Help them learn from their mistakes so they can get their lives into order. How to Grow in Wisdom-Pro 2:1-6

DAY 13-Discovering the Wisdom God Gives Ps 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments. Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Pro 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. DEAR LORD, in awe, I present myself before You today with the utmost humility. My wisdom has failed and I have become baffled by the situations that surround me. I need Your mercy and Your wisdom. Please give me understanding that, from this moment, I might take right steps. The Counsel of a Man who Learned to Trust God- Ps 34:1-11

DAY 14-Opening up to the Spirit of Wisdom Eph 1:15a,16,17 Wherefore I also...cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge (or, "acknowledgment") of Him. GRACIOUS LORD, help me understand that the greatest move of wisdom I can now make is to acknowledge Your Son as Lord. There are several people close to me who need to make this same move. Draw them as I hold them before Your Throne of Grace. Release in them an understanding of Your mercy and power and wisdom. How the Gospel Contains the Wisdom of God- I Cor 1:17-24

DAY 15-Finding God's Hidden Wisdom Rom 16:25,26a Now to Him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest... I Cor 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory. HEAVENLY FATHER, how marvelous that You have ordained a wisdom from out of eternity to work in us who trust Your Son! Since our own wisdom has failed over and over; we yield to Yours. Teach us to wait before You till we know its release in us. Now, we request this for these others we hold before Your Throne. The Mystery Unveiled-Eph 3:1-6

DAY 16-Finding the Purity of Wisdom from Above Jas 3:17a But the wisdom that is from above is first pure... Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; ("there be any virtue, and ("there be any praise, think on these things. DEAR LORD, we wait before You for the cleansing of our understanding that Your pure wisdom may find a place in us. Make us vessels from which this wisdom can flow to others. Bring the desire for this wisdom of Yours over into the hearts of these we hold before You. What this Wisdom Will Bring into the Life of a Young Man-Pro 2:10-20

DAY 17-Discovering the Peace Wisdom Brings Jas 3:17a But the wisdom that is from above is...then peaceable... Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. FATHER, please heal the wounds in our spirits that keep us holding on to old hurts. Release in us the wisdom that will enable us to live peaceably with others. Please release Your peaceable wisdom into the lives of these others in our family. Heal their hurts so peace can come. Peace, the Fruit of Righteousness-Jas 3:18; Mt 5:9; Rom 12:18

DAY 18-Finding the Gentleness of Wisdom Jas 3:17a But the wisdom that is from above is...gentle... Isa 40:11 He shall feed His flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. DEAR LORD, please cleanse us from all pride and hardness of heart that makes us have to be right. Grant us the gentle wisdom that will help us listen to, and care about, what others have to say. There are some near us who need us to be gentle with them. Help us in this. The Gentle Dealings of Wisdom-II Tim 2:23-26; Gal 6:1-3

DAY 19-The Wisdom that Can Be Persuaded Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is...easy to be entreated... Jas 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. LORD, help us add kindness to wisdom. Too often we have been hard and unyielding toward others who were in need of love and compassion. Work it into us to become more pliant and kind toward those who oppose us. Let them see You working in us. Becoming Fruitful in the Knowledge of the Lord-II Pet 1:5-8

DAY 20-Walking in the Mercy of Heaven's Wisdom Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is.. .full of mercy and good fruits... Col 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. DEAR LORD, sometimes I have thought it wise to be harsh and unyielding, This has brought resentment in others and caused more trouble. Help me find the way of mercy that will work in accord with Your wisdom. Help those whom I have hurt in my harshness to receive the mercy I am now ready to show them. Learning from God Who Is Full of Mercy- PS 86:15; Ps 119:64; Ps 145:8

DAY 21-Exhibiting the Impartiality of God's Wisdom Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is...without partiality... I Thes 5:14,15 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man: but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
FATHER, I yield myself to the grace of Your wisdom. Let it work in me an attitude that is right toward everyone that I will have something to do with today. Especially give me wisdom to deal with any that are unruly, feebleminded, or weak. Work this same mercy, mingled with wisdom, into these I now hold before You.
Learning to Love Others Os we Love Ourselves-Jas 2:1-8

DAY 22-The Open Honesty of Godly Wisdom Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is... without hypocrisy... Lk 12:1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
DEAR LORD, forgive me for sometimes not being real with other people. Forgive me for pretending to be more spiritually minded than I actually am. Work in me a wisdom that gives up hypocrisy. Now bring Your healing upon these to whom I have not born a good testimony. Providing Things Honest in the Sight of All-Rom 12:17; II Cor 8:21; Phil 4:8; I Pet 2:12

DAY 23-Discovering the Meekness of Godly Wisdom Jas 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation ("manner of living") his works with meekness of wisdom. Zeph 2:3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
LORD, draw my heart to seek meekness. It is a quality that has been difficult for me to come by. Let the meekness of Your wisdom work in me and through me toward others. I desire that my whole life will become a demonstration of this wonderful quality that I learn from You. God's Promises to the Meek-Ps 22:26; Ps 25:9; Ps 37:11; Ps 147:6; Ps 149:4; Mt 5:5

DAY 24-Embracing the Wisdom of God's Word Ps 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. Ps 119:129,130 Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them. The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding ("wisdom") unto the simple.
LORD, help me and those in my family embrace the wisdom of Your Word. I hold these dear ones before You right now. Draw them to love Your Word and to seek its light. I bring them before Your Throne and loose them from this world's wisdom that they might receive Yours. Discovering the Power of God's Word-Ps 17:4; Ps 107:20; Ps 119:9-17

DAY 25-The Danger of Rejecting Wisdom's Humility Pro 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Pro 18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility. Pro 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour and life.
FATHER, I humble myself before You. I renounce a haughty spirit. I ask You to cleanse me from the way of thinking that causes me to lift myself up by putting others down. Please work in these I hold before You. Draw them into the humility and meekness that comes by knowing Your presence and loving Your ways. Submission and Humility-I Pet 5:5-11

DAY 26-The Wisdom that Comes from Our Union with Christ I Cor 1:23,24,30 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God... But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. FATHER, my own wisdom has failed. My own ability to walk uprightly is too weak to maintain the righteousness of Your Kingdom. Therefore, I yield the counsel of my heart and the desires of my soul to You and ask that You sanctify my inner man. Let me show forth the glory of the wisdom of leading a Christ filled life. How God Made Foolish the Wisdom of this World- I Cor 1:17-30

DAY 27-The Wisdom that Is Ordained to Our Glory I Cor 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory. Mt 11:25.. Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, 0 Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because Thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
DEAR LORD, please release Your wisdom that Your ordained for our glory-in my own life, in my family, and these I hold before You. Let it radiate to those around us who struggle with life. Even though they are babes, let them see You in us and desire Your Kingdom. How the Gospel, although Simple, Exceeds the Wisdom of this World-I Cor 2:1-9
