God is Making Us into a New Creation

GOD SAW ALL HIS WORK IN CREATION THAT IT WAS GOOD. As our Heavenly Father, His work continues today in us. He will see that this work begun in us is good also.

DAY 1—All God’s work is done in wisdom.

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Pro 8:22, 23 THE LORD POSSESSED ME IN THE BEGINNING of His way, before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

• FATHER, I’m in awe of Your wisdom. The longer I know You, the more I stand in awe of Who You are and what You do. I thank You for the wisdom of Your grace. Thank You for taking in someone so lacking in wisdom as I am. I love You for this.

He will give wisdom to those who realize they need it and ask Him for itJames 1:4-7

DAY 2—The same Spirit Who would not leave those dark waters now hovers over us.

Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And THE SPIRIT OF GOD MOVED UPON THE FACE OF THE WATERS. Acts 2:1-4a And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and IT SAT UPON EACH OF THEM. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

• FATHER, what compassion You have shown me! My life would be like those dark waters if Your Spirit had not come upon me. Please continue what You have begun. Let Your Spirit move in me till I become a pleasure to You.

The promise of the Holy Spirit is to everyone, everywhere—Acts 2:37-40

DAY 3—God began creation’s work with light. He is doing the same with us.

Gen 1:3-5 And GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHT: AND THERE WAS LIGHT. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Isa 60:1,2 ARISE, SHINE; FOR THY LIGHT IS COME, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

• LORD, as darkness is closing in on the earth, please let Your light shine in these persons I bring before You. Some of them still walk in darkness. Please bring the light of conviction to them. Let the power of Your Light draw them on into Your loving arms.

We who were once darkness are now children of light—Eph 5:8-13

DAY 4—God Who called the earth into order now rules it with power and wisdom.

Gen 1:6,7 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. Jer 10:12 HE HATH MADE THE EARTH BY HIS POWER, HE HATH ESTABLISHED THE WORLD BY HIS WISDOM, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

• FATHER, please establish my family in wisdom. Let the confusion that is trying to overcome some of us be overcome by the power and wisdom of Your Spirit. Oh, I love You so much! Thank You!!!

In knowing Christ’s Redemption, we become new creations—Gal 6:14,15; II Cor 5:17

DAY 5—What God brought forth in the beginning was good. What He is bringing forth in us now is also a good thing.

Gen 1:10...13 And God said, Let the earth bring forth… And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD. And the evening and the morning were the third day. Ps 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: NO GOOD THING WILL HE WITHHOLD FROM THEM THAT WALK UPRIGHTLY.

• FATHER, thank You for the trial of our faith. It has been a good thing. Please continue Your work in these whose names I call before You. Their faith is under attack and they really need the renewal only Your Spirit can bring.

When we learn to put God’s Kingdom first, we find that all our needs for life are met—Matt 6:25-33

GOD, WHO CREATED LIGHT, IS BRINGING LIGHT TO OUR PERSONAL DARKNESS. Even in the darkness, He teaches us things good to know.

DAY 6—God has given us light. It is for all the world to see.

Gen 1:14,15 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: and LET THEM BE FOR LIGHTS IN THE FIRMAMENT OF THE HEAVEN TO GIVE LIGHT UPON THE EARTH: and it was so. Ps 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: NO GOOD THING WILL HE WITHHOLD FROM THEM THAT WALK UPRIGHTLY.

• FATHER, give me the grace to deal with my darkness at Your Throne of Grace. I yield to the power of Your Spirit, to drive out all darkness. Please convict me of anything in my life that will hinder Your light from shining out from me.

When we walk in the light with God, we have unhindered communion with Him—I John 1:1-7

DAY 7—When we have seen the Lord, and our lives become clean, we can see His glory all around us.

Gen 1:16-18 And GOD MADE TWO GREAT LIGHTS; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also. AND GOD SET THEM IN THE FIRMAMENT OF THE HEAVEN TO GIVE LIGHT UPON THE EARTH, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. Isaiah 6:3 And one (seraphim) cried unto another, and said, HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, IS THE LORD OF HOSTS: THE WHOLE EARTH IS FULL OF HIS GLORY.

• FATHER, our desire is to know Your glory. If it is too much for us to behold, then please reveal what we can receive of it. As we behold Your glory, let it work to change us into the image of Your beloved Son.

When Isaiah beheld the glory of the Lord, he came under deep conviction over his sin—Isa 6:1-8; II Cor 3:18

DAY 8—God has established a right order for the lives of all His creatures.

Gen 1:24,25 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD. Psalm 104:20-23 Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth. The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God. The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens. Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

• FATHER, I rejoice in the order You have set in the earth for all Your creation. Too many have disregarded it. We have done much to harm Your earth. Please convict my family, and these others I hold in prayer. Show us what is right so we can come back into the order You planned for us.

When Messiah’s Rule comes in its fullness, God’s order will be restored—Isa 11:1-10

THE HIGH POINT OF GOD’S CREATION WAS WHEN HE BROUGHT FORTH MAN IN HIS OWN LIKENESS. He made male and female to replenish the earth and to set in order His righteous rule.

DAY 9—God’s highest ordination for those made in His likeness is that they rule with Him in His Kingdom.

Gen 1:26...28 And God said, LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE, after our likeness: and LET THEM HAVE DOMINION And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it... Ps 8:4-6 What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, That thou visitest him? For Thou hast made him a little lower (for a little while lower) than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet...

• FATHER, I rejoice in the order You have set in the earth for all Your creation. Too many of us disregard it. We have done harm to Your earth, and to one another. Please convict my family, and these others I hold before You. Show us what is right so we can come back into the order You set for us.

This awesome passage, with the two quoted above, reveal God’s ordination for the male and female of His creation— to be realized now only through Christ Jesus—Heb 2:5-10

DAY 10—God has put everything in the earth mankind needs to sustain them physically.

Gen 1:29,30 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (food). And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. Ps 104:24 O LORD, how manifold are Thy works! in wisdom hast Thou made them all: THE EARTH IS FULL OF THY RICHES.

• FATHER, what love You have shown for all Your creation! I praise You for the way You have sustained my own family. Thank You for the miracles of provision that came when we saw no way. Let the confidence Your Spirit gives us become strong. Please do this work in these I hold before You.2

When we know the fullness of God’s Kingdom, we shall see an abundance for all—Isa 49:7-16

DAY 11—God finished His work of creation in six days. Then He rested and set a Sabbath. The Lord Jesus finished His Work of Salvation on the Cross and set a perpetual Sabbath for us.

Gen 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it HE HAD RESTED FROM ALL HIS WORK WHICH GOD CREATED AND MADE. Heb 4:9,10 There remaineth therefore a rest (the keeping of a Sabbath) to the people of God. FOR HE THAT IS ENTERED INTO HIS REST, HE ALSO HATH CEASED FROM HIS OWN WORKS, as God did from his.

• GRACIOUS LORD, I praise You for the continuing Sabbath Rest You opened for us in Your suffering on the cross. Please set us free from our striving, —our worrying,—our trying to take burdens too heavy to bear. Please draw us on into the rest that became ours when Your cried out, Is is finished!

There is a greater Sabbath into which we enter through faith—Heb 4:1-11

GOD GAVE THE PEOPLE HE MADE THE ABILITY TO MAKE CHOICES. Without this enabling gift, they could not have known the wonder of love, for love is a matter of choice.

DAY 12—God gave the man Adam His Own breath, thus giving him opportunity to live an abundant life in Eden.

Gen 2:7,8 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. Isa 64:88 But now, O LORD, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and Thou our Potter; and we all are the work of Thy hand. Ps 103:14 For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust.

• FATHER, after all You have given us for life, I have sometimes chosen death. I praise You for Your mercy that reached for me time and again. You know my frame, O LORD. You know I am a weak creature. I ask You to keep Your hand of restraint on me. Draw me on to become a mature son/daughter in Your Kingdom.

Jesus breathed on His disciples the Breath of Life and gave them the Holy Spirit—John 20:19-22

DAY 13—God gave the man and woman of His creation the ability to choose good or evil. They chose evil. Now, His grace once again offers good.

Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the Tree of Life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. John 6:47-50 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

• FATHER, I ran from You toward evil. My knowledge of that evil is a knowledge I no longer want. I ask You to cleanse my mind and my spirit. Create in me a clean heart. Renew a right spirit within me. Make me a child of Your Kingdom.

David gave us this Psalm that can lead us to the cleansing of our inner man—Ps 19:1-14

DAY 14—God placed restriction on the man He created lest he discover the way of death.

Gen 2:15-17 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but OF THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL, THOU SHALT NOT EAT OF IT: FOR IN THE DAY THAT THOU EATEST THEREOF THOU SHALT SURELY DIE.

• FATHER, when You placed life before me and I chose death, I opened myself to some darkness that has stayed with me. Oh, LORD, I want light and life! Please send Your Holy Spirit through all my inner man. Burn Holy Fire in me till I am clean, and Your light is shining in every room of my life.

Clearly, the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Lord—Rom 6:21-23
