Holding Nations before God’s Throne

FOR MOST OF THIS MONTH we step out of our own circle of concern to hold before God’s Throne some member nations of the LEAGUE OF ARAB NATIONS. They, like every other nation, are held under spiritual forces that veil their eyes to truth and light. Let us wrestle against the principalities over them, even as we pray.

DAY 1—ALGERIA—With a population exceeding 31 million, 99 percent Muslim

(All statistics in this issue are taken from Time Almanac 2001, published by Family Education Company, Boston MA.)
Ps 9:19, 20 Arise O LORD, let not man prevail: let the heathen ("the nations") be judged in Thy sight. Put them in fear, O LORD: that THE NATIONS may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
· FATHER, I leave my own circle of pain and concern today to hold this nation of ALGERIA before You. I declare that in this country many shall turn to You with repentance and place their trust in Your Son. Move on them by Your Spirit in a supernatural way.

We cannot rest in our Intercession till the whole earth is filled with God’s glory—Ps 72:17-20

 

DAY 2—JORDAN—A population about 5 million, 92 percent Muslim, 6 percent Christian

Isa 9:1,2 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first He lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond JORDAN, in Galilee of the nations. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
· LORD, I call this nation of JORDAN before Your throne. Let Your light shine upon them even as the Prophet Isaiah foretold. Move on the believers in this country. Let them become a source of this light.

There shall be no end to the Increase of Christ’s Government—Isa 9:6,7; Mt 3:5

 

DAY 3—UNITED ARAB EMIRATES—Population about 2.5 million, 80 percent Sunni Muslim, 16 percent Shi’ite Muslim

Gen 12:2,3 (God said to Abraham) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall ALL FAMILIES of the earth be blessed. Gal 3:8 And the scripture foreseeing that God would justify the heathen (the Gentile Nations) through faith, preached before the Gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall ALL NATIONS be blessed.
· GRACIOUS LORD, I listen again to this Promise given Abraham and see it reached for all families of the earth in all nations. Oh, bring the blessing of repentance and faith upon these ARAB families. I loose them to turn to You. Draw them by Your Spirit.

Believing In Christ Jesus will draw every family into the blessing promised Abraham
—Gal 3:6-9

DAY 4—BAHRAIN—Population about .75 million, all of whom are Muslim

Ps 67:1,2 God be merciful unto us, and bless us: and cause His face to shine upon us Selah. That Thy way may be known upon earth. Thy saving health among ALL NATIONS. Mk 16:15 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.
· LORD, impress anew upon us that the Gospel message is for every person on earth. Oh, let Your saving health be known among all the nations! Move in this little nation of BAHRAIN. I join others in holding back the forces blinding them to Your truth.

All the ends of the earth shall fear the Lord and bow before Him—Ps 67:1-7

DAY 5—TUNESIA—Population 9.7 million, 98 percent Muslim,
1 percent Christian

Ps 22:27,28 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before Thee. For the Kingdom is the LORD’S: and He is the Governor among the nations. Ps 82:8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for Thou shalt inherit ALL NATIONS.
· GREAT REDEEMER, You alone have the right to reign over the nations. You created the principalities. They were made for the authority of Your rule. None other has the right to reign. Oh, LORD, arise and come into Your rule in this nation of TUNESIA!

Thrones, dominions, principalities and powers were created by Christ and for His rule
—Col 1:16-18

DAY 6—MOROCCO—Population over 31 million, 98.7 percent of whom are Muslim, 1.1 percent are Christian

Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills: and ALL NATIONS shall flow unto it. Ps 67:40 let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for Thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.
· LORD, the reach of Your Kingdom is great. Your grace is merciful as you receive each person who repents. Even to us who have been wicked, You offer redemption. Reach into the people of MOROCCO! Oh, draw them to Your bosom of love!

The commission from the Lord Jesus is clearly that we take the Gospel everywhere
—Mt 28:18-20

DAY 7—SAUDI ARABIA—Population 22 million, 100 percent of whom are Muslim

Ps 113:4 The LORD is high above ALL NATIONS, and His glory above the heavens. Hab 2:14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
· FATHER, let us who know You know the dominion of Your Kingdom even now. Show us its glory. Even as You move in our midst, make Your glory known to the SAUDI people. Bring them down to bow before You. Open their hearts to the Redemption You offer us all in Christ Jesus.

The same Lord is rich unto all who call upon Him—Rom 10:10-13

DAY 8—SUDAN—Population over 35 million, 70 percent Muslim, 20 percent traditional, 5 percent Christian

Isa 25:6,7 And in this mountain (God’s Government in the earth) shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things ("anointed things," things of the Holy Spirit), a feast of wines on the lee, of fat things full of marrow of wines on the lees well refined. And He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people and the veil that is spread over ALL NATIONS.
· FATHER, move on Your Spirit-filled people. Make us instruments through whom the veil spread over the nations can be destroyed. Open our understanding to lay hold on the commission that rests on us for this awesome hour. Now, here is SUDAN...

Zion Is set for God’s rule in the earth—Mic 4:1, 2

DAY 9—SYRIA—Population 16.5 million, 90 percent Muslim, 10 percent Christian

Ps 10:17,18 LORD, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt prepare their heart. Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear: to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth (the anti-Christ himself) may no more oppress. Mt 4:24 And His fame (the report of Jesus) went throughout all SYRIA: and they brought unto Him all sick people...and He healed them.
· LORD, even to the people who served demon gods You showed Your mercy when You walked on earth. Oh, move again through SYRIA. Show them Your mercy again. Move upon them by Your Spirit.

Paul went repeatedly into Syria with the Gospel
—Ac 15:23, 41; Ac 18:18; Ac 2O:3; Ac 2l:3; Gal 1:21

DAY 10—SOMALIA—Population 7.3 million, all of whom are Muslim

Ps 72:8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. Mal 1:11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same My Name shall be great among the Gentiles: and in every place incense shall be offered unto My Name, and a pure offering: for My Name shall be great among the heathen (the nations), saith the LORD of hosts.
· LORD, let Your Name be great in SOMALIA. Let their destitute know how You offer grace and provision to the weary. Let Your Word go forth with anointing. Let miracles come with its proclamation so they can know the power of Your Kingdom.

The church is to know that Christ has dominion unto the ends of the earth—Eph 1:18-23

DAY 11—IRAQ——Population 22.75 million, 97 per Muslim,
plus a few Christians

Isa 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Lk 2:30-32 For mine eyes have seen Thy salvation, which Thou hast prepared before the face of ALL PEOPLE; a light to lighten the Gentiles (the Nations), and the glory of Thy people Israel.
· FATHER, let Your light shine in this land of IRAQ. Encourage the few believers there who are learning to trust You. Move upon them. Anoint them to withstand the deception. Make them lights in the darkness. Protect them till their land is free in You.

The Lord Jesus will bring the power and glory of God’s Kingdom in all the earth—Isa 11:1-9

DAY 12—OMAN and QATAR—Two oil rich countries with combined population of about 3.5 million, 95 per cent of whom are Muslim

Ps 33:8-10 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spake, and it was done: He commanded and it stood fast. The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen (the nations) to nought: He maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
· FATHER, here are these people of the ARAB world who have become rich. Oh, let them stand in awe of You! Let them see how the counsels they have embraced are laced with falsity. Convict them by Your Spirit to know Your Son, the Lord Jesus.

The nations that exult in their wealth stand in danger of sinking—Ps 9:15-20

DAY 13—PALESTINE—West Bank, over 2 million, 75 percent Muslim; Gaza Strip, 1.5 million, 98.7 percent Muslim

Ps 82:5,8 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.... Arise O God, judge the earth: for Thou shalt inherit ALL NATIONS.
· FATHER, we cry unto You for the PALESTINIANS who want their own nation. Let Your way be known among them! Bring Your saving presence among them! Bring Your righteous judgements among them! Let the world see Your deliverance for Israel, and for the Palestinians whom You also love.

It is the Lord Who is to be feared in the controversy over this land—Is 34:1-8

DAY 14—KUWAIT—About 2 million population, 85 percent Muslim, a few Christians

Ps 86:9,10 ALL NATIONS whom Thou hast made shall come and worship before Thee. O Lord: and shall glorify Thy Name. For Thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone.
· O LORD, bring this little nation of KUWAIT to know the grace and love You offer in Christ Jesus! Bring conviction for sin upon those among them who trust in their uncertain riches. Bring right judgments.

God calls people in darkness who know Him not to become His people—I Pet 2:9,10

DAY 15—LEBANON—3.7 million, 60 percent Muslim; 40 percent Christian (with 17 sects)

Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired Thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek Thee early: for when Thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Isa 33:9,10 The earth mourneth and languisheth: LEBANON is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits. Now will I rise, saith the LORD: now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.
· LORD, we have hope that your judgments in the earth will draw people to You. Let the leaders of this nation LEBANON, even before more severe trials come on them, turn to You in repentance and faith.

All nations are but as small things before the Lord—Is 40:15-17

DAY 16—LIBYA—5.2 million people, all Muslim

Isa 52:15 So shall He sprinkle many nations: the kings shall shut their mouths at Him: for that which had not been told them shall they see and that which they had not heard shall they consider. Ezk 39:21 And I will set My glory among the heathen, and ALL THE HEATHEN ("all the nations") shall see My judgment that I have executed and My hand that I have laid upon them.
· FATHER, let this nation of LIBYA see Your judgments. Let them know Your hand upon them to bring them to repentance. Let those who despise the Name of Your only begotten Son come under the conviction of Your Spirit to seek Him. Oh, move miraculously!

The Lord will establish His justice among all the nations—Ps 110:1-7

DAY 17—EGYPT—68.5 million people, 94 percent Muslim, 6 percent Christian (mostly Coptic)

Dan 11:42-45 He (the anti-Christ) shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of EGYPT shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
· LORD, it seems from this prophecy that EGYPT will be some of the ground where anti-Christ will do his last work. Oh, let Your Spirit move on the Egyptians who hold some inclination toward knowing Your Son! Bring them to true repentance and faith. Let Your Spirit come upon them for wisdom and understanding.

Shall God’s Spirit remove the perverse spirit That has moved upon Egypt?—Isa 19:1-14

DAY 18—YEMEN—Nearly 18 million, all Muslim

Isa 29:7,8 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel (Jerusalem), even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision. It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and. Behold, he eateth: but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and behold, he drinketh: but he awaketh, and behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of ALL THE NATIONS be that fight against Mount Zion.
· FATHER, there is no hope for this strife torn and oppressed people of YEMEN, but in Your Kingdom. I join with others today in recognizing Your right to reign here. I join in proclaiming the overthrow of the evil spirit forces that have oppressed them. I join in proclaiming that Jesus is both Christ and Lord.

The hope of every nations lies with the Child Isaiah said should be born—Isa 9:1-7

DAY 19—PAKISTAN—Not an Arab League State; Nearly 142 million, 97 percent Muslim

Jer 25:31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations He will plead with ALL FLESH: He will give them that are wicked to the sword saith the LORD.
· FATHER, the conflict in this nation of PAKISTAN is great. Oh, bring a movement of Your Spirit upon them that will cause many to turn to You in repentance! Help the few believers here to stand true to Your Son. Give them a testimony that is powerful and clear.

All idolatry and false worship shall fail—Isa 2:17-21

DAY 20—IRAN—Not an Arab League State; 67 million, 99 percent Muslim

Zeph 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon Me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for My determination is to gather THE NATIONS, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them Mine indignation, even all My fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My Jealousy.
· DEAR LORD, I feel Your jealousy for this nation of IRAN. Let it move like a fire through the land. Let the people begin to tremble before You. Let them long for the truth of Your Gospel. Let Your light and power come upon the small company of believers here. Protect them and make them into strong evangelists.

The Lord will deal with all nations that have molested His people—Joel 3:1-7

DAY 21—AFGHANISTAN—Not an Arab League State; 26 million, 84 percent Sunni Muslim, 15 percent Shi’ite Muslim

Hag 2:6,7 For thus saith the LORD of hosts: once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land: and I will shake ALL NATIONS and THE DESIRE OF ALL NATIONS shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
· FATHER, we stand in awe of Your movements among the nations. Oh, cause the inhabitants of AFGHANISTAN to shake before Your presence. Bring upon the few believers there a strong faith, with wisdom. Let them move as lights in the land. Bring understanding in them to know Who You are and what You are doing.

We are receiving a Kingdom which cannot be shaken—Heb 12:25-29

DAY 22—ISRAEL—Not an Arab League State; 26 million, 82 percent Judaism, 14 percent Muslim, 2 percent Christian

Deut 28:1, 2 (a Word to Israel) And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above ALL NATIONS of the earth: and all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
· FATHER, I believe Your Covenant with Abraham stands. Actually, I’m in awe of it. Oh, bring an awakening to ISRAEL, wherever its people are! Let the light of the Lord Jesus some of them have embraced grow brighter. Let them see their promised Messiah has come.
